The Cros-Lex Pioneer Innovators Club proudly presents the first Vex VRC Robotic Competition being held at the Croswell-Lexington High School Competition Gym on Saturday, November 11, starting at 9:30 AM and running through 3:00 PM.
Throughout the day, twenty-four teams will be randomly matched up to compete. Teams will be coming from Bad Axe, Bloomfield Hills, Cass City, Harbor Beach, Monroe, Pontiac, Rochester Hills, and Ubly. During several qualifying matches, each robotic team will compete to score the most points by stacking small yellow-plastic cones and moving them into different point goal zones. In the first fifteen seconds, robots will be programmed to score points autonomously. Then, during the remaining two minutes, each team driver will be working to earn the most points by stacking cones. At the end of all the qualifying matches, the top eight teams will form alliances with two other teams to complete in the elimination round. The goal is to earn the top spot and qualify for the regional tournament hosted in February in Monroe.
Throughout the summer, the four Cros-Lex robotic teams have being working hard to design, build, and practice driving their robots, and they would love to see you cheering them on this Saturday!
College Month at Cros-Lex High School
Our goal at Croswell-Lexington High School is to have all seniors leave with a post-secondary plan and the resources in place to support the plan. Throughout "College Month" seniors have been applying to universities and community colleges, completing the FAFSA, and going on college visits. Our seniors had the opportunity to visit Saginaw Valley State University and Delta, U of M Flint and Mott, or Oakland and Oakland Community College. As we move closer to the end of College Month, we are having FAFSA Fridays where students can complete their FAFSA applications. We also have a scholarship presentation later this month. It's an exciting time to be a Pioneer!
