Transcript of Mr. Wood’s Phone Call Message on 2-24-2021

Hello Pioneers, we hope everyone is having a great week!  We wanted to take just a moment to provide a brief update on a variety of topics.

We have our spring parent/teacher conferences coming up on March 3 from 4:30-7:30.  Our plan will be a little different than the fall.  After school on Friday, we will be sharing instructions on how to sign up through Skyward for a four-minute zoom meeting time slot.   On Tuesday, March 2, teachers will share the zoom link via Skyward to parents email so you can join the waiting room until the teacher lets you in.  We will also be sharing a list of all teacher zoom links on Tuesday.  To prepare for the upcoming conferences, if your email has changed or you need to add your email please send an email to jshell@croslex.org or call the office at 679-1500.

A reminder for sophomore parents interested in our Early College or CL5 program.  The deadline to sign-up is this Friday.  We shared the presentation last week.  This extraordinary program allows students to enroll in classes at St. Clair County Community College during their junior, senior, and 5th year, earning up to an Associate’s degree at no cost to you.  Students take two classes a semester in their junior and senior year and their 5th year is entirely at SC4.  Please email Mrs. Mills at mmills@croslex.org with any questions.

Also, this is a “Friday Sweep Week” so all student assignments from this week and previous weeks must be submitted by 5 pm on Friday, Feb. 26, or will become zeros in the teacher’s grade books.  You may check for missing assignments for your child in Skyward or also check their Brightspace account.

A reminder that the HS Media Center will be available on half days from 11:30-3:00.  This is available for both face-to-face students and virtual students who need more support or a structured environment in which to complete assignments.  You can also use this time to make up quizzes and tests.  Transportation home would have to be provided.

Finally, third marking period progress reports are available for viewing in Skyward under the portfolio tab.

Have a great week everyone, stay safe, and go Pioneers!
