5th and 6th Grade Cross-Country Club This year we are excited to offer an introduction to the sport of Cross-Country. This opportunity will be available for 5th and 6th graders at the Middle School. The first practice will be Monday September 20th after school until 4:15. The students will use the cross-country trail behind the schools. Students will need to pick up a sign up sheet outside the middle school office, have their parents sign the second sheet and return it to the middle school office before the first practice. The students will change into appropriate clothes in the bathrooms and meet the coach (Mrs. Tremmel) behind the MS. Students will be picked up there at 4:15 PM. ATTENTION 5TH & 6TH GRADE GIRLS: Basketball tryouts for the fall league will be next week. Please see the schedule below for dates and times: Sep 13, 15 & 17 5th Grade: 5:00 - 6:30PM 6th Grade: 6:00 - 7:30PM Practice will take place in the MS Gym. Girls must be committed to attending weekly practices (Approx. 2x/week). Scrimmages and games will take place primarily on Saturdays later in the season. Good evening Middle School families! Just a couple updates to pass along in regards to fall sports. 7th & 8th grade Girl's Sideline Cheer tryouts will begin on Tuesday Aug. 31, from 3:15-5:15 in the MS cafeteria. Also, 7th & 8th grade girls and boys Cross Country practice, led by our new coach, Mr. Dale Crawford, will begin on Monday, Aug. 23, from 3:15-4:30. Meet behind the middle school cafeteria. Finally, for those student athletes who may not yet have a sports physical, the Croswell Wesleyan Church is hosting a Back to School Expo on Saturday Aug. 21, from 12:00-4:00 pm at the Swinging Bridge Park in Croswell. First of all, I'd like to remind anyone that plans on joining/trying out for a fall team, you must have a valid sports physical before you may practice or tryout. A valid sports physical for the 21/22 school year is one that occurred on or after April 15, 2021. *Practice for 8th grade football will begin on Monday, August 23, from 5:30-7:30 pm. Parents and student athletes, This year the school has again teamed up with McKenzie Health Systems to be able to help athletes get their athletic physicals completed here in town. Croswell Clinic will be opening their office on July 29th from 8:30-11:30 and 1:00-4:30 to get students in. The cost will be $15.00 per student. Cash or checks made payable to McKenzie Health Systems will be collected the day of the appointment. Attached you will find a physical form for the upcoming school year. Forms must be completed, signed by parents and turned back into the athletic office by the end of the school year( June 11th). When turning in your completed form students will sign up for a time on July 29th. There are two sheets, a pink sheet for the girls and a blue sheet for the boys. Please pick the correct sheet and pick your time. All completed forms will be turned over to the physician's office prior to July 29th. There will be back up forms at the office but forms must have a parent's signature on them in order for students to be seen. Croswell Clinic 8 N. Middle School Spring Band Concerts this evening at 6:00 PM. We will feature the 6th, 7th & 8th Grade Bands. The 8th Grade Band recently was awarded a Division I "Superior" rating for their virtual band festival performance this spring.
