Winter sports competitions begin next week, and the Cros-Lex Athletic Boosters is looking for volunteers to help run concessions for MS Girl's Basketball and MS Wrestling in November and December. Good morning Pioneer families! For those of you with students interested in wrestling this year, practice begins Monday, Nov. 1, after school. Make sure a copy of your student's current sports physical has been turned in or they will not be able to practice! 33 students have signed up with Mr. Lilly saying they are interested in wrestling this year, but only 13 of them have current physicals on file. If you are not sure if your student has turned one in or not, please email me and I will let you know. Thank you!

Winter 1 Sports Update:
Good evening CLMS families! Here is some information on sports opportunities for the Winter 1 season.
Girl's 7th & 8th Grade Basketball - Tryouts begin Monday Oct. 25 from 3:15-4:45 pm in the MS gym. For more info, email Coach Olds (7th) at dolds@croslex.org or Coach Kennealy (8th) at mkennealy@croslex.org.
6/7/8th Grade Wrestling - Practice begins Monday Nov. 2 from 3:15-5:15 in the Wrestling Room/MS Cafeteria. For more information, contact Coach Stanbridge at stanbridgekurt@gmail.com.
Powerlifting - There will be an opportunity for MS students to participate in powerlifting this year. More info to come!
Reminders: In order to participate in any of these sports, a current sports physical must be on file at the middle school. In addition, per MHSAA and Croswell-Lexington Athletic Handbook regulations, 8th grade students must have passed 5 out of 6 classes during the second semester last school year in order to be eligible to join a Winter 1 sports team.
Attention Parents of Fall Athletes - Just a reminder that the yearly sports fee for CLMS is $25. Whether you play a sport in one season or all of them, it's a one-time fee. There are many athletes who still owe. Failure to pay this week may affect your athlete's ability to play in their final week of competition next week. Checks can be made out to Cros-Lex Athletics. You may drop payment off in the Middle School office. If you have any questions, please email me at mgoodwin@croslex.org.
