Late Start changed to Early Dismissal

October 20, 2022

Dear Cros-Lex Parents and Families:

At Monday evening’s Board of Education meeting, results from the Late Start Schedule Input
Survey were shared and discussed. There were 811 responses, and results showed 55.2% of the participants strongly preferred to change to early release, 14.8% of the participants were satisfied with keeping the late start schedule, and 30% of the participants could make either schedule work.

In response to the survey results, the four remaining late start days are being changed to early
dismissal days for the 2022-2023 school calendar. The late start days scheduled for November 9, 2022, December 7, 2022, March 15, 2023, and May 10, 2023, will now be early dismissal days. On early dismissal days, the Middle School and High School will dismiss at 12:45 p.m., Frostick Elementary will dismiss at 1 p.m., and Meyer Elementary will dismiss at 1:05 p.m. Lunch will be served to students on early dismissal days. Latchkey will be available for students who have registered for the service.

Thank you for your continued support and partnership with our district.

Sincerely,
Colette Moody
Superintendent
